At Jefferson Middle School, students enjoy a diverse range of academic, arts, and enrichment classes designed to foster learning and personal growth.
Academic Standards & Curriculum
Our core classes include Social Studies, Science, English Language Arts (ELA-Writing & Reading), and Math. For students who meet specific benchmarks, advanced math options like Algebra and Geometry are available, and these classes can count toward high school credit.
In addition to core subjects, all students take a Physical Education Class and one quarter of each: Technology Education, Spanish, Art, and Health each year. JMS encourages students to explore their creativity through Band and/or Choir as part of their educational journey but are allowed a study hall if they choose not to add music to their schedule.
Through our EMLSS/ enrichment program, known as WIN (What I Need), we provide tailored opportunities to support each student’s unique needs. For those needing extra help in math or reading, we offer targeted support. Students involved in after-school activities can opt for study hall, while our enrichment classes allow students to explore quarter-long courses based on their own interests and passions, as well as those of our staff.
